SAY CIAO TO OUR FOUNDERS
The adventure started in 2021 as a passion project. We both grown up in the South of Italy and we met in South Australia several years ago.
Hospitality and our love for the industry is what led us to create SØŪTH.
Luca: “I discovered an interest for wine since an early age when my granddad used to make and drink wine for the entire family.
I started to work in hospitality for fun at the age of 14, mainly in summer breaks.
I moved to London after high school, I started to take it serious especially when I began to work with Michelin starred chefs and very well-known restaurants.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with three master sommeliers in my career, where I developed my passion for wines more and more”.
Gaetano: “Growing up In Italy I was lucky to be surrounded by the food and wine culture. I remember helping our neighbours make their home-grown wine in their backyard.
By the Age of 14, I was working in restaurants over the Amalfi coast. I learned a lot about wine throughout my early ages but it wasn’t until I moved to America, living in New York and San Francisco, that helped me understand and really broaden my experiences with all different varieties.
Hospitality has been a passion of mine since I was very young. I feel it was in my blood- it’s something I could embody and be myself.
Luckily I have had the chance to work all over the world which let me meet so many people over the years.”
